TAMADA GWS Khvanchkara
Experience the legendary taste of Georgia with TAMADA GWS Khvanchkara, one of the country’s most celebrated naturally semi-sweet red wines. Crafted from the rare indigenous Aleksandrouli and Mujuretuli grape varieties grown in the prestigious Khvanchkara micro-zone of the mountainous Racha region, this wine delivers elegance, richness, and unforgettable character.
Ruby to lively burgundy in colour with an elegant brightness, this wine reveals expressive aromas and flavours of fresh strawberries, raspberries, ripe cherries, and wild berries. The flavour composition carries beautifully across the entire palate, delivering depth, balance, and refinement. Rich yet smooth velvety tannins are enhanced by the noble purity and character of this unique Georgian wine region.
The palate is full, soft, and generous, with an exuberant mid-palate and a lingering sweet-soft tannic finish. Beautifully balanced natural sweetness and refreshing acidity create a wine that is both approachable and sophisticated.
For the perfect dining experience, serve Khvanchkara slightly cooled but not chilled. It pairs wonderfully with vegetable salads, fried chicken breast with mustard and potatoes, fruit salads, and nutty chocolates.

Vinification: Harvest hand-picked in 20 kg boxes from plots of our Sadmeli vineyards, in Ambrolauri. Extracted from the grape solids and filtered with rough filtration to ensure separation from yeasts (fermentation agent). Stored at negative temperature to prevent from re-starting fermentation. Blending, fining and filtration prior to bottling.
Color: Light ruby.
Bouquet: Intense aromas of roses and berry fruits, with distinctive cornelian cherry aromas
Taste: Mild and velvety, with pleasantly integrated acidity.
The Terroir
Our vineyard in Racha is in Khvanchkara AOC - village Sadmeli. This famous micro-zone is situated at 450-750 meters on the southern slopes of Lechkhumi ridge. The climate here is quite humid, with moderately cold winters and hot, relatively dry summers. In this vineyard, we cultivate the most emblematic grape varietals of Racha: Aleksandrouli and Mujuretuli. Next to the vineyard, we operate a fully equipped winery that allows us to guarantee high quality by de-stemming and crushing freshly handpicked grapes and fermenting these whiles avoiding lengthy transportation.
