In the past, I always underappreciated sweet wines, viewing them as introductory beverages meant for beginners who weren't accustomed to alcohol. Because of this prejudice, I never gave them a second thought.
However, my entire perspective shifted after I discovered Georgian wine.Hearing that Georgia’s semi-sweet wines are considered among the finest in the world, I made a point of including a bottle of semi-sweet red in my very first order.
The moment I uncorked it, a rich aroma rushed out—one that was almost identical to the dry red from the exact same winery. But the first sip completely caught me off guard. The palate was beautifully sweet, offering a rich, thick, and velvety texture that reminded me of Chinese glutinous rice wine (nuomijiu), a comforting flavor profile I know and love. Yet beneath that sweetness, it still retained the traditional, robust character and structure of a classic Georgian red.It absolutely lives up to its stellar reputation—what a magnificent wine!
Without a moment's hesitation, I have already added it to my list for my next order.
