Qvevris KISI (Vintage 2019) This wine is produced using “Qvevri method.” A Qvevri is a uniquely Georgian creation, a large subterranean clay jar, in which wines are fermented and matured on both skins and stems. This gives Qvevri wines a dimension of flavour and aroma not found in other wines.

Fermentation: The wine is produced using the traditional Georgian “Qvevri Method”. Grape juice and skins are fully fermented and macerated for 5 months in Qvevri (clay vessel buried into the ground) that gives the wine deep and full tannin taste and structure.

Tasting Notes: smoked honey and grippy, nutty tannins well-balanced acidity

Alcohol: 12.5%.

Serving temperature: 10-14°C.

Great Kisi wine..
For the last couple of years, the Qvevris wines have been my go-to for Christmas Day lunch and well into the evenings. Absolutely love the complexity this age old method of wine making brings to the nose and palate, and the color is gorgeous too. This is a great wine and I will keep coming back to it.

Sadly unimpressive
We were excited to find Qvevri wines in Australia. I got quite fond of these "orange" wines during our trip to Georgia. Sadly, this one didn't live up to its expectations.

Welcoming Georgian wines to Oz

The delivery was fast and safe. The packaging makes it a nice gift for a special occasion. The taste is as I remember it from many years ago when I lived overseas and it was easy to by my favourites - Mukuzani and Saperavi. Thank you for bringing them to Australia. This is a lovely addition to our wine market.
